Acer macrophyllum (Big Leaf Maple)
Other names: Oregon Maple

Big Leaf Maple is a large, heavily branched tree that can reach heights of 90 feet.  Big Leaf Maple grows in a wide variety of soil types, but prefers deep soils near streams.  It also prefers mostly sunny areas in forest openings and edges.  With its extremely large leaves and spreading branches, Big Leaf Maple makes an excellent shade tree, and a great tree to plant for erosion control.  Fall color is generally yellow to dry brown, but can be weather dependent with some years exhibiting brilliant yellow.  Please contact us for prices and availability.
