Red Stem Ceanothus grows to nine feet in height and about half that wide.  It is a deciduous shrub with white flower tufts and red colored branches.  It is very drought tolerant and prefers dry, somewhat open sites with full sun to partial shade.  Soils need to be well draining.  Red Stem Ceanothus is a very valuable browse for big game animals and is a favorite food source for deer and elk.  Please contact us with any questions.
