Other Names: Black Hawthorn
Douglas Hawthorn is a large shrub or small tree that will grow to heights of up to 30 feet. It grows best in full sun or partial shade in well draining soils. It is quite drought tolerant once established and will not need regular watering. Douglas Hawthorn is a very good wildlife shrub. Its thick, thorned branches provide cover and nesting sites, and the large dark purple berries provide lots of feed for the birds. Douglas Hawthorn has nice spring blooms for added interest. It also works very well as a privacy hedge or screen. Please contact us with availability and prices.
