Epilobium angustifolium (Fireweed)
Other names: Rosebay Willowherb
Other names: Rosebay Willowherb
Growing to nearly five feet in height, Fireweed is an attractive perennial often seen in old burns and other disturbed sites. Fireweed grows best in moist, to moderately dry soils in full sun to partial shade. The pink to purple flowers grow on a tall spike at the top of the long stem and are very showy, attracting many nectar loving insects and hummingbirds. Fireweed can become weedy in disturbed soil areas, so you may wish to clip the spent flowers before the fluffy seeds explode from the pods. Please contact us for prices and availability.
