Other names: Wax Berry
Other names: Wax Berry
Snowberry is an erect shrub growing to 6 feet in height. It grows in a wide variety of locations from sunny dry locations to riparian areas in moist, shaded forests. The flowers of Snowberry are small, pink to white bell shaped flowers which proceed the large white puffy berries. The berries stay on the plant long after leaf drop giving the shrub winter interest. Although not a favorite, snowberry provides late winter food for many species of birds. With a little pruning, Snowberry can be a very attractive lanscape shrub.
